Spiderman 2 was an outstanding movie, but so was Spiderman. I also liked (apparently the only one who did) Daredevil. But my favorite Marvel movie would have to be X-men 2...even though I thought X-men and X-men 3 were just okay, X2 was fricking outstanding.

I think that the Spider-Man movie was a really good adaptation. Even though that there were some changes to the story, it was still good to see that the changes reflected the time at which the movie was made. The changes made were not too dramatic that they took away from the overall story and it held true to the origin. I think that it was interesting that they used an, at the time, current topic like genetic engineering to give him his powers. If they had kept to the original story line it would have been set back in the late 50's early 60's and I think it would have suffered.
To me these movies are very enjoyable and very entertaining. Sam Rami deserves a huge pat on the back for bringing one of the most colorful heroes to the big screen. I'm a little nervous to see what happens when his three-picture deal with this franchise runs out. Maybe Bryan Singer can take over and do what he did for X-Men. Take nothing away from the first two X-Men, but for me, as a comic fan, I'm still going for Spider-Man.
MAKE MINE MARVEL!!

Usually its not a very good idea to turn comics into movies, and I hate going with the crowd, but I was impressed with the spiderman movies so far, even though the second one was a bit slow and boring - same with the first, and I am eager to see the third enstallment. Daredevil was good but not my favorite and the same goes for the Fantastic 4 flop, i mean movie sorry, and soon to be sequel of FF4. Marvel's movies are better then DC's movies to an extent.

I gotta agree with herogoggle the first spider-man was as close to the original story as any of the other Marvel movies, the only thing about that movie that bothered me was the fact that they took out Peter Parker's web shooters, he was a chemistry major and built and designed his web-shooters and not some gland that pops out of his wrists, he got that ability after he got the black costume and the living symbiote that was the costume had web-shooters on the back of his hands that were made up of an organic material. I also liked the fantastic four movie and I can't wait until the new movie with the silver surfer comes out I just hope that in that movie we get to see Galactus as well.

Gotta say, the Spider-man movies (the first one if I can only have one). They made minor changes to the original story (saving Mary Jane in the tram scene, not the death of Gwen Stacy) but for the most part were very faithful to the character and history.
Thanks X! 1. The web glands came from Spider-Man 2200 series where they set up similar heroes in the future (and its easier to explain, than a how a better than average high schooler could create something so completely cool!). As for the ff sequel they will show Galactus, and apparently its going to be very faithful to the comic where Doom steals the Surfer's powers. I made a blog post about it at http://hero-goggles.blogspot.com/2007/01/fantastic-four-rise-of-silver-surfer.html

So far the spiderman series seems to be right on, a little nervous about the new movie though. It has 3 villians (including venom suit) and sometimes that makes too many and confuses the story. Just saw ghost rider and it was great but I don't know the orgins or much about that, mostly a dc/vertigo fan.

Are you kidding?!? Daredevil?!? That was terrible. The best comic book movie ever is Sin City, then Hellboy. The best Marvel movie so far was the Punisher! No wait, NICK FURY: S.H.E.I.L.D. AGENT starring David Hasselhoff is the best marvel movie EVER!!!!!!

Growing up, I was a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE Spider-fan. I loved the movies, but I was more scrutinous of them than a lesser fan or average moviegoer might have been. I nitpicked them to death.
That said, I never really read X-Men growing up, and thought the first two movies were out of this world. The third was OK, but overall, it left me a little flat. And I would understand if a lifelong, diehard X-Fan walked out of the theater after 'The Last Stand' REALLY pissed off (not elaborating for spoiler's sake).

"Spiderman" is by far the best comic book adaptation ever done. Marvel or D.C.
