It can't be created... so no "Big Bang" theories please.. that was energy already,, where did that energy come from. If it can't be created then there isn't any energy right? or what? I'm confused.

Matter and energy are two versions of the same thing. Remember the famous Einstein equation: E=mc^2 ? That is not the theory of relativity as is a popular misconception. It's called the mass-energy equivalence. It means that an amount of energy is equivalent to a given mass multiplied by the speed of light squared.

This is how nuclear power plants produce energy. They convert the mass of atomic nuclei into energy, and harness that energy by heating water to make steam to turn turbines which turn generators which make electricity. The energy isn't being created, it's being converted from matter into energy.

Other energy sources such as hydroelectric power (daming a river) are basically converting gravity into electricity. There is energy stored in the water in the form of its height above the ground. When the water falls down through the pipes in the dam, it turns turbines which turn generators which make electricity.

Batteries store energy by having two materials inside them with different charges that can't go directly between the two materials. When you connect a circuit between the terminals of the battery, electrons flow through the circuit trying to equalize the charges - we harness the flow of electrons to get work done.

There are lots and lots of examples out there, but the thing to remember is that whenever we "create energy" we're not making it spring from nothingness, but rather converting it from one form to another, and getting some work done in the transaction.

As far as the big bang goes, you could say that it's a "something from nothing" example - but according to physicists, there was no time "before" the big bang. In other words, the first moment of the universe was the big bang and before that there wasn't even a universe, so there was no time either. At that moment, all matter and energy that will ever be in the entire universe existed there in a tiny single point. Of course it was way too concentrated, so it expanded very rapidly. ;)

Ever since then, energy and matter have simply been changing forms and interacting with each other. All we've ever been able to do is harness the interactions and conversions to make things happen that we want done. (like power our computers to visit Yahoo Answers. ;)

actual, we will not state what occurred at a singularity. it is why it particularly is called a singularity. we will not see promptly what occurred till now it *because of the fact* it replaced into all packed mutually, leaving no lines of what could've occurred till now the singularity. maybe you have heard of the huge Crunch? the thought that the universe can come again mutually, in basic terms to important Bang throughout lower back? If that occurred, then it particularly is ordinary to work out that the situation and potential could have existed. Or, it ought to've existed in yet another type till now the huge Bang. some have proposed vacuum potential, which has extra effective than sufficient potential. it particularly is even been calculated that the quantity of vacuum potential that ought to slot in a lightbulb is extra effective than sufficient to blast the earth to airborne dirt and dirt....with plenty left over to knock different planets out of their present day orbits. There ought to ok be a "super previous," some distance previous our telescopes to work out, the place vacuum potential fluctuations have led to endless universe to spring into life....it is in many situations existed, and continuously will. Our universe is in simple terms one in each of an endless type of possibilities. We agree that something had to have existed. you advise a supernatural being, yet you haven't any longer have been given any help for this type of element. there is particularly no longer something inherently incorrect with thinking that the stuff of the universe continuously existed.

There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.
