You'll want to give yourself about 3 months to get the depo out of your system. After that, your chances of getting pregnant are the same as everyone else's.

Yes, you can get pregnant after the shot. However, it may take a little longer than usual. Most Drs. say between 8 and 18 months after the last shot was received. It is definitely not a life ruiner. I had 4 children after taking depo on and off for 6 years.

I got pregnant after 8 months off the shot with baby #2 and again after 6 months with baby #3.

Your chances are good that it could happen at any time. Remember, the last shot you got covered you until January, so you have only been off the shot for 3 months now.

Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Yes you can get pregnant if you do not take it as prescribed. However depo also can cause women to have a very hard time conceiving. It has very nasty side effects and should not be taken for more than 2 years.

I really can't believe anyone would take the shot after reading the patient insert. Which is available here:
http://www.pfizer.com/pfizer/download/ppi_depo_provera_contraceptive.pdf

ALWAYS ask for the patient insert for any injection you are getting. ALWAYS read it before accepting the injections. ALWAYS ask for the injection to be drawn in front of you and make sure the DIN on the vial matches the DIN on the patient insert. Medical mistakes happen, DON'T BE A STATISTIC!

After the 3 month period between shots it's possible to get pregnant (there's even a small chance during that time too). That's why you have to get the shot every 3 months. They can't guarantee protection after that. It can take up to a year for your cycles to return to normal. After my last shot, I didn't have a period for 6 months.
I'm not sure what the chances are. It depends on your body. I would start using protection if you don't want a baby.

You said it right, Depo is a life ruiner. You might have to wait 6months to 3 years to get pregnant. You would not have a normal period . So your chance are 60/40. Good Luck

I've heard that women can have a more difficult time getting pregnant after Depo. But even if you hadn't been on any type of hormonal bc before trying to get pregnant it can take a while.

For depo to work properly you must take every shot when your supposed to. Having unprotected sex at anytime increases your chances of pregnancy. Depo can change your cycle, or you may not even get a period. this happened to some people i know. Good Luck

Yes, you can still get pregnant. The only form of birth control that works completely is abstinence.

Depo is a life ruiner....I would NEVER recommend anyone to use this method of birth control. It messes with your hormones so much for so long, it can do some serious damage.

But, if you like to have periods that last for months, have violent mood swings, and feel suicidal...try it.
