If you were to touch live wire while grounded, wouldn't you burn?

Grounding kits have a high resistance which is sufficient to prevent electrical shock, yet low enough to dissipate static electricity. In a laboratory environment, there are testing devices that are periodically used to verify the safety and function of grounding devices. The links below show two such devices. If you are concerned for your safety, perhaps you should ask your boss to have your office chairs and computers tested.

The idea of the grounding kits is for the static electricity to go to ground instead of to the computer.

If it goes to the computer it could really mess it up
