wow you younger people are great

, I've met so many teens at our high school while picking up my Grand kids from school & at games , plays & conserts . A lot come up & talk to me , that's great . Treat People good & they will remember in kind .

Smile at other people at the store & say hello . I've found that when I do , people old or young light up & look happier . You can save a life , you never know that they might have had a really bad day & needed a kind word .

You are the sweetest person on this site! I am 24 and I absolutely appreciate my grandparents and all they have to say! I would say that I haven't always appreciated them as much as I should have as a teenager but now I am eager to learn all that I can when I visit with them. I think that older people know a heck of a lot more than I do and they definitely have words of wisdom! You have MUCH to offer to younger generations so keep answering questions. Just be aware that there are a lot of confused teenagers on here and some questions can be disturbing. If you can take it set 'em straight! Have fun!

First of all, I am very jealous that you got to live in such a great generation.

Good television, good radio, good music. Everything has pretty much gone downhill since then.

But, to answer your question...
Since we have so much technology around us, many people may think of advice from older generations useless. For instance, why get advice on how to make tomato sauce when you can buy it from a jar?

I completely disagree, however. I think there should be a website with household tips from the generation who knew how to do EVERYTHING. For instance:

How to clean cast-iron pots.
If you are broken down on the side of the road with no cell-phone and a broken belt, how can you get home?
HOW DO YOU MAKE CORNED BEEF??? The only way I know is to buy the package from the store, but I want to make it homemade.
How to catch a boatfull of bass with only a cane pole and a can of worms.
How to polish old furniture to make it look new.

I am thrilled whenever my grandfather gives me tips such as these.

I envy your generation.

I almost day-dream about having lived during my grand-parents era or even during my parents generation. (They're in their 50's.)

Forget the electronics, gadgets and gizmos -- life was better then.

Today, American streets are dangerous. Street-gangs now terrorize once safe neighborhoods. I hate always having to plan my trips around the "ever-increasing-danger-zones" in town.

I hate going to the mall to the see the mall now flooded with gang-banger types who revel in the fact that they now own the streets.

America is being colonized by Mexico and will be owned by Mexico within my lifetime, unless a miracle happens. (Do a demographics to see this.) I hate the idea of being a minority in my own homeland, the homeland my grand-father fought for. I hate the idea of being a refugee in my own homeland taking orders from Mexico.

I'm so tired of not just the illegal invasion but the multi-culturalism and political divison in this country.

The media pumps out trashy, morally degenerate movies and TV shows and music.

College professors teach how people of European decent are evil. They also teach how America was always evil.

I'm so angry at the Baby Boomer generation. They destroyed this country for what? For "free love", drugs and rock and roll?

I dearly miss my grand-parents.

I went through the math and the facts state that the America that my dad grew up in, the America that my grand-dad fought for is DEAD and never coming back.

When I see older people, I envy you and treasure you because you're a link to better times. Sure, you had troubles in your time, but today's crisis facing America have effectively killed it and will make things worse. Fighting an enemy that most all Americans are united against is one thing ... but dealing with internal rot ... materialism ... apathy ... and fragmentation of American society is uncharted waters at the level it is today.

I too am a member of the "older" generation and just wanted to say that I am pleasantly surprised at the responces you have recieved (thus far) from the younger generation. The respect and good manners they are showing you makes me think there is hope for all of us yet.
Congrads to the younger generatons.

yes ! .. we can learn alot from you.
my dad is a lil older.. to be my dad.. heh.. hes 68 and im 23.. hesthe oldest of 6 boys ... and i love listening to everything he and his brothers have to say about the past.. or anyone older really. I think the world could learn alot from older generations .. we are becoming way too materialistic.. and we are starting to forget what really is important in life.

i love the 50s and 60s era. I wish I could have lived in that time period.
