I'm off to Bucharest this weekend and was wondering how much cigarettes cost in Romania? Say for example a pack of 20 Marlboro lights or for a pack of 200?

When I was backpacking around the Balkans and Eastern Europe a few years ago, I stayed at ElvisVillas hostel in Bucharest, and they gave us free cigarettes :)
Unfortunately they were the local cheap 'n cheerful brand... so you can imagine the taste... nearly as bad as the 5 pence a pack ones I got in Siberia with the pictures of Lenin or Stalin on them :)
Anyway, even good brands are very very cheap there, about 2 euros a pack!

I a Romanian Former smoker i can tell u that a pack of cigarettes here cost abt 2$ - 2,50 $
That would be abt 3,8-4,0 Lei

You'll find all the worldwide known brands...
If u want to take Ciggs with u abroad and avoid them bein confiscated at the border, take out the aluminum folia of each pack ( so they consider you cannot sell them on the black market in ya country)

The best (Marlboro, Kent, Davidoff...) about 2 euros, the others (LM, Winston, Viceroy...)less than 1.5 euros (let's say about 2 USD). I think it's O.K. according to the prices from others countries.
