System restore isn't going to help you. I assume you haven't run off a set of master cd's/dvd's. This is very important on most pc's or laptops as what would you do if you had a hard drive failure. You are stuffed.

Run off a master dvd for your operating system and anyone else out there who hasn't done this then do it now.

On the advent you can restore the factory settings from programmes. I did this on a friends ladvent aptop only about 2 weeks ago but am not sure where it is. Please don't get confused with system restore. Have a scan through your programmes from the start menu and look for anything that says recovery or advent.

When you find what you are looking for it will ask you what you want do. What you want is to restore original factory settings. This will erase any information you have put on your laptop and will be as it was was you got it from either pc world/currys. Advent are made by packard bell for the pc world/currys group.
