Companies are usually blind to the effect they have on their customers. If the company was just one person, then as a coherent entity it would understand when it behaves irrationally toward its customers. The problem is that a company is an incoherent assortment of people and systems that lack cohesiveness and a centralized communication system that can be aware of its interactions with its customers. All this results in a huge time lag between the time a customer probelm and when the company is aware of the problem.

ask all your friends ( you do have friends? ) to write to british gas and say that you have the solution to the energy crisis. When its obvious to them that you don't, propose your idea for payment cards and they will get some good out of dealing with you > which is more than I'll get for helping you!
