Iam on birth control pills. its usually taken for21 days from the day periods begin. is it safe to take these pills for extra 7 days after the completion of 21 days course.

im going on a honeymoon. kindly advise

Yes. It is safe to do every now and then, though I wouldn't do it every month. But, your honeymoon is once in a lifetime. Go for it. Congrats and have a great time!

Congrats on your honeymoon! Yes, it's safe to take the pills for an extra week. I heard the nurse at my ob/gyn's office advising a woman (who was also going on her honeymoon, lol) to do the same thing. You may get some spotting (especially if you normally have heavy periods), since your body won't be accustomed to being on a 4 weeks-off cycle. But that's better than having a whole period!

You can take a pack of pills back to back. Once you finish the first pack skip the placebo pills and go right on to your next pack and finish that second pack.

i think you should be covered for tht week any way so no need to take pills. but if your not wanting to bleed then i no a lot of ppl tht have just carried on taking them not come on and been fine. as long as you dont do it regularly its ok. hope this helps xx
