An excerpt from a Men's Health article:

Running: Take Me Out (Franz Ferdinand) - it's easy to match with songs of a similar tempo and beat. 'Also Are You Gonna Be My Girl?' (Jet) and 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' (Green Day).

Marathon running: Angel (Sarah McLachlan) - not too fast

Weightlifting: Owner of a Lonely Heart (Yes) - lightens your load by making you feel less serious

Yoga/Pilates: Only Time (Enya) - makes you focus. Also, any song by Westlife

Brisk walking: Ordinary People (John Legend) - take it slow

Kickboxing: Hollaback Girl (Gwen Stefani) - gives you power. Also, Just Like A Pill (Pink). Or anything by X-Japan.

Aerobics: Hung Up (Madonna)

Cycling: I Feel Good (James Brown)

Sex: Come Away With Me (Norah Jones)

5 Worst Workout Songs Ever:

1. I'm Too Sexy (Right Said Fred) - you're supposed to think 'Rocky', not 'tacky'.

2. I'm Every Woman (Whitney Houston)

3. Dragostea Din Tei (Chicken Little soundtrack) - you want a gentle muscle ache, not a massive headache.

4. Gloomy Sunday (Billie Holiday) - when it first hit the charts in the '30s, suicide rates hit the roof in Europe. Just think of what it can do to your workout.

5. Any song by Kenny G - falling asleep during the Romanian Deadlift is hazardous to your health.

Most hip-hop music is great high energy music workout to. I listen to a lot of hip-hop while in the street running/jogging. And, I'm not a big hip-hop fan. 50-cent songs like "In da club" and "Candy Shop." And Missy Elliott songs, etc.

Get yourself the album "The Rocky Story"; it takes all the best songs from all the Rocky movies and can keep you going even when you are completely drained. Personally I think the "Rocky IV" soundtrack was the best and probably has the best song for working out on there, which would be "Hearts on Fire". Good luck out there and keep on working.

You might like Crystal Method's "Vegas" album. Very high energy. You'll probably even recognize a couple of the songs on it. Check it out on itunes.
