you would think that opening a discussion would be good. but it seems to get you labeled a racist. It makes me very sad. i guess this is proof that the struggle to get past racism is still going on. does this make you sad?

yes, it does. labels and even racism is always going to exist somewhat. it is unfortunate but it is going to happen. it sounds like a downer but i don't think that we or in the generations that follow us are ever going to see the end of racism either. i feel as if it is only going to get worse. some people can not just accept people for their differences. however, what great people like dr. martin luther king jr. and rosa parks have done in the past has not been in vain. it is because of them that we are no longer segregated and african americans and people alike enjoy some of the even most basic freedoms that they receive today. i hope someday that we will truly be "one nation under god with liberty and justice for all" but i think we have a long way to go. it is up to people to carry on the words of dr. king and rosa parks and help establish "e plurbis unum" (from many one) where we can be one together and that is the way it should be. hope this helps. good luck.

Because when people demand tolerance they are doing it in an intolerant way, like the red scare or witch hunts in which only the accusers could speak. So called tolerance - isn't tolerance. The only ones who are allowed to speak are ones who agree strongly. And they love to call people racists over nothing or almost nothing. Imagine if people were calling people rapists left and right who weren't rapists. To call someone a monster of any type is defamation of character and is actually illegal and legally actionable. It is then the responsibility of the accuser the prove the claim in a court of law. Imagine putting all who don't agree with you in the same group as Hitler. And don't tell me we are all or almost all racist. That is just a cowardly cop out with no basis in reality.

yes. I find it difficult to talk about racism. I don't think it's an open forum, too much to be offended by. and that prevents us from further discussion.

It does make me sad. And it makes me mad. People can't handle the truth. Racism will never end.
