I have taken this in conjunction with Clomid. The Provera only brings on your period, but since it starts a new cycle there is a new chance to ovulate and hence a chance to conceive. If you are not ovulating than the Provera alone will not help you conceive.
Feel free to e-mail me about trying to conceive, I have been to an RE and have done a lot of research on infertility. headspin153@yahoo.com

My Dr. wanted to give this to me after my last period was really short and light, but I found this on it and chose not to take it because my husband and I were TTC. The thing is you need to take it around the 16 day of your cycle, and you could be pregnant by the 16 day. Also I found out I was pregnant, the month the dr. wanted me to take it, i felt like someone was watching over me and my baby to be. I would't take it, if you want to concieve in the month your taking it. 4weeks5days.
Most important fact about this drug
You should never take Provera during the first 4 months of pregnancy. During this formative period, even a few days of treatment with Provera might put your unborn baby at increased risk for birth defects. If you take Provera and later discover that you were pregnant when you took it, discuss this with your doctor right away.
Why should this drug not be prescribed?
Provera should never be taken during pregnancy. Avoid it if you even suspect you're pregnant. Doctors once prescribed Provera as a test for pregnancy, but no longer do so for 2 reasons:
Quicker, safer pregnancy tests are now available.
If you are in fact pregnant, Provera might injure the baby.
Similarly, Provera used to be given to try to prevent miscarriage. However, doctors now believe that this treatment is not only ineffective but also potentially harmful to the baby.
Do not take Provera if you have:
Cancer of the breast or genital organs
Liver disease or a liver condition
A dead fetus still in the uterus
Undiagnosed bleeding from the vagina
Do not take Provera if you have, or have ever developed, blood clots. Avoid it, too, if it gives you an allergic reaction.
Good Luck to you and your family

Provera helps you get your periods,if you are irregular which might also mean that you are no ovulating regularly,Provera has nothing to do with getting pregnant,But normally you your periods should start within a week to 10 days after you finish taking provera,& if even after that your periods dont start,Dont get tensed,Call back your doctor & tell her,She will give u another medication if you dont start with provera.
Good Luck for you and me in getting pregnant

Depo-provera is known to impair fertility up to a year after the last dose wears off, this does not sound like a reasonable treatment for fertility issues to me.
From the patient insert:

Return of Fertility
Because DEPO-PROVERA Contraceptive Injection is a long-acting birth control
method, it takes some time after your last injection for its effect to wear off. Based on the
results from a large study done in the United States, of those women who stop using
DEPO-PROVERA Contraceptive Injection in order to become pregnant, about half of
those who become pregnant do so in about 10 months after their last injection; about twothirds
of those who become pregnant do so in about 12 months, about 83% of those who
become pregnant do so in about 15 months, and about 93% of those who become
pregnant do so in about 18 months after their last injection. The length of time you use
DEPO-PROVERA Contraceptive Injection has no effect on how long it takes you to
become pregnant after you stop using it.
There are also many other potentially serious side effects.
ALWAYS ask for the patient insert for any injection you are getting. ALWAYS read it before accepting the injections. ALWAYS ask for the injection to be drawn in front of you and make sure the DIN on the vial matches the DIN on the patient insert. Medical mistakes happen, DON'T BE A STATISTIC!
There are other non prescription drug ways of increasing fertility. Speak to a midwife, read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" or speak to a naturopath.
