If you'd like to have a nursery and clothes that are pink or blue, just buy things in both colors. Then attach the receipt to the front of things so you can return all the ones that are the wrong color after the baby is born. A lot of people don't even put their babies in the nursery for a few months (they have a bassinet in their room), so you'd always have plenty of time to set up after the baby is born. All you'd really need with tags off and washed is an outfit to bring the baby home from the hospital in, you could go gender neutral or bring both a pink and green outfit with you.

I was pregnant with twins and we didn't know the sex of the baby either. We went with neutral colors like yellows and greens. Go have a look at www.potterybarnkids.com and you'll get some cute ideas for uni-sex nurseries. A light blue can be a feminine color or a mascuilne color for a nursery. Turquoise and Brown is really hot right now. It would be pretty in a babies room.

Any color you like - the baby won't care. Mauve - a cross between pastel blue and pastel pink - would cover both bases. You might also go on the Internet and see if there's anything on research done regarding room/furniture colors and the degree of babies' contentement. They use bubblegum pink in prisons to calm unruly prisoners, but that might not work with a baby! LOL

Perhaps primary colour for the nursery - they are nice and bright
.
For clothes, just buy a few yellow, green, or tan coloured items, and then go shopping again for more after the baby is born.

I painted my son's room yellow and white. When he's in there, he loves looking at the bright color.
I had requested yellow or green for clothing, that way I could reuse them for future children. I knew I was having a boy, but I didn't know if I would have a boy again, so I requested those colors.
Plus, I hear bright colors help their eyes.

Even though I knew I was having a boy, I did Red, White and Blue for the nursery, it can go both ways!

I would get a couple pinks and a couple blues just to have something gender specific. Other than that, try the usual yellow and green, some blues are good for girls too, whites, reds and oranges are good to. Basically, to be neutral avoid pink, baby blue and purple. Good luck, it must be exciting not to know, personally I couldn't take it though. Congrats.

Pale green, soft yellow, and white are all perfect and tend to be unisex. I personally think the nursery would look really pretty painted green with long white curtains. :)
