I think you have to consider this a journey that constantly grows. I am a technical trader and i think it is important that all people understand technical analysis (no matter if you are long term or short term) because it helps you determine entry and exit points. For psychology of trading, I recommend TRADING for A Living by Alexander Elder and Rules to the TRADE by David Nasser. for Technical, The visual investor by John Murphy and Using Technical Analysis (cliff Pistolese). Hope that helps.
