Your email provider (your ISP) should - MUST - have given you this information when you signed up!!! Free email accounts, like Yahoo!, often don't provide POP access. (Google is free, and does offer POP access. Google's gmail, which *used to* require an invitation, no longer requires an invitation: go for it!)

At any rate, *very often*, BUT NOT ALWAYS, the POP server name is something like pop.company.com and the smpt servername is something like smtp.company.com so that if your ISP is the "whizbang corporation" it might be pop.whizbang.com and smtp.whizbang.com. Whizbang would give you a userid (often your email address, like say userid@whizbang.com) and a password - you'd place these in the setup, also. And make sure you have your Internet Options set up for a connection to Whizbang along with their (your) password.

There'll be one port for POP and one port for SMTP, and their numbers will somewhat depend on whether you're using secure communication of some type, or not...your ISP should - MUST - tell you in advance!!!

If your webmail provider (e.g., Yahoo premium account, gmail, etc) is able/willing to allow you to download to outlook, just click on help and search for outlook or POP mail. They will provide the server address for the POP3 and STMP.

you have to key in those POP and SMTP.

how do you get them?

Fiirst you must know who your provider is, which is the company you pay for your internet service.

Once you know, you can ask them those details from them

If you are clueless ro do not have any provdier, then you cannot setup your Outlook
