What is the method for thinking about a person who is attractive, but not getting infatuated or craving them?

This might be a typical male psychological issue, but it seems many young women do not appear to have this problem (or at least to the extent that men do), maybe because, in very general terms (and perhaps, stereotypically), women like to be looked at and men do the looking at women.
