Is it true? How common is this in India?

As your Doctor to see if this is common. They used to but now I think (depending upon what they are operating on) you just cannot eat or drink ANYTHING AFTER MIDNIGHT THE NIGHT BEFORE.

not usually as you fast before surgery anyway. You can always goive it to yourself before you go in if you are that upset at the prospect. Bottom line, even if you need one it will be the least of your discomforts! Don't know about India-- assume the same as everywhere. They don't even give ememas before child birth as a rule now, so I bet you won't have to worry.
