well, I couldn't agree with you more, since religion is certainly as potent a problem as hate, poverty and ingnorance, not to mention drug abuse and mental illness, BUT....
I think outlawing it in it's entirety would be a very dangerous precedent. I think the problem with organized religions is that they tend to be much like a cancerous tumor and spread into parts of the world body where if left to fester can really do some horrible damage.
How about just making them stay behind the doors of their churchs, mosques, temples etc where they belong and leave people to think for themselves?

Religion is simply a "belief system." You don't have to be a bible thumper to be religious...if you believe strongly in something. Environmentalism is basically a religion, as is socialism, and radical feminism. Why? Because people tout their belief system as being the only way to reach "salvation." Whether it is "saving" the planet, making everyone equal in the world, or that the female gender should control the world because man is a lesser animal. Anyone who disagrees with their stand is treated as a heretic.
Those are only examples, but the point is you cannot outlaw religion. It will just come back under other names.
Another point: Many of the greatest works of the world were the result of religious inspiration. I would hate to see that done away with. The world would not be a better place for it.

First you cannot outlaw religion. People will think what they want and lie to you if necessary. Second more people have been killed by the anti-religion philosophy you advance than by religion in the 20th century. Third what makes you think the worship of man as God is not in itself a form of religion. Fourth, name one law in the US that has been passed in the last 50 years for religious purposes that has affected you in any way. I'll bet you can't

Hey Stalin, you should read "The Black Book Of Communism". Sounds like you.
"The authors, all distinguished scholars based in Europe, document Communist crimes against humanity, but also crimes against national and universal culture, from Stalin's destruction of hundreds of churches in Moscow to Ceausescu's leveling of the historic heart of Bucharest to the widescale devastation visited on Chinese culture by Mao's Red Guards. I'm certainly glad you clarified that you are from the United States, the rest was self explanatory. Religion will never be "outlawed" in the United States, and I think we should all pray for you. Thanks

Without religion or christianity, this world would be even more
hell on earth.
The devil and evil has just about took over the planet, but in the end God and Love always prevail.
Get over your evil idea---it will never happen.
The USA is no more evil than the rest of the planet.
GET WISE!

"Religion" has always been the culprit with man against humanity and ultimately against God. Obvious God doesn't work through "religion" rather relationship. So "religion" could go away and all would benefit.
Strange, how people ignore the context then repeat in there words what you really mean to say..
