Safest way to tan is to use a spray or sunless tanning lotion. Sitting in the sun or using a tanning booth/bed can be dangerous if you're not very careful (sorry, but there is no such thing as a UV-free tanning booth or bed -- it's the UV rays that cause tanning). If you resort to a booth or a bed, start out at 3 minutes a time, go every other day, and increase your times by 1 minute every 3 visits. Most tanning salons also offer tanning products to accelerate your results, and many of them have special tanning products for fair-skinned people. If you start now, you should have a good base by the time your prom rolls around.

Well if you dont tan outside then you probably wont tan in a tanning bed either. Or atleast thats just what they say. I tan in a tanning bed so I have nothing against it! But if you do go then make sure you get a good lotion for your skin type & start off going only like 5 minutes or less & every week go up 1 or 2 more minutes. Working your way up to about 10-15 minutes. That way you wont get a sunburn right off the bat & that way you will have a good base tan! I hope this helps! Good Luck :)

whoa....... a million. you will possibly get a metamorphosis after one pass to, purely be certain you do no longer pass in too long and get burnt! 2. i could say around 5-7 visits watching the ability of the bulbs on the tanner you are going to. 3. Tanning beds provide you a similar tan. 4. i could continuously tan interior the sunlight if I had time! you could continuously do the two. 5. Tans from a mattress final a on a similar time as as quickly as you have been frequently going i could say a pair of week earlier you're going lower back to commonplace. 6. no longer something relatively occurs once you tan in the two place different than that it is going to truly will positioned on off or in case you get burnt it is going to peel off. Thats why you need to pass somewhat frequently and for applicable quantities of time.

There is no good way to tan, a tan means that your skin has been damaged. I would suggest that you go to a high end spa/salon a few days in advance and get an air brush tan for the special occasion. It should not cost more than 20-30 dollars.

I too have very fair skin and will be starting tanning soon for summer, but i'm gonna start aroud the time you will want results. I go everyother day for 10 minutes and I use Bohemia tanning lotion. I get a good tan in about 3 weeks, then I don't go as often cuz it looks gross if anyone over tans.

Purchase a Mystic tan at your local tanning salon. It's a spray on substance that won't harm your skin like the sun's rays. Just be sure to shower before the big event. If not, the chemical can rub off onto your clothes.

I don't know if there is a Sun Tan city in your location but if so they have the spray tan and I hear its nice or.... they also have beds that are basically uv free and I usually go to the nearly uv free bed for 4 or 5 times to avoid burning and then my skin is good to go and use amplifiers and moisturizer lotions to minimize any peeling. If there isn't a suntan city, I bet there are other tanning comapnies that offer similar options!

I like the lotions that you can use with self-tanners in them. I know lots of people think they make you look yellow, but if you use a more expensive brand they work really well. I think Aveno has done the best for me so far. I prefer the gradual tanning types, but there's also the kind that you apply less often. Don't tan in a tanning bed or the sun, even if you don't burn it damages your skin. http://www.catalogs.com/info/b2b/are-tanning-beds-bad-for-you.html
Good luck tanning for prom! :)

I'm very "Fair-Skinned" also.. So, what I do, in the summer's is the first week, just lay-out, for about 1 hour, sure you'll get a sunburn.. Then take three-four days off, until your burn is tan. Then begin lying out about 1/2 hour per side, about every other day.. Until your a nice "Golden Brown" , or whatever color you turn.. I get Golden brown... And forget all of those sunscreens, hun.. They have so many chemicals that get in your blood stream, and just think, if they protect you from getting any color from thee "Almighty Powerful sun!!!" What on earth are they made out of??!!! That's so scary, the thought of what they are made of.. Its called limiting your time in the sun, is all... forget those sunscreens, the sun has so many vitamins in it, that are so good for you!! My kids are constantly outside during the summers, and they grow an inch or so, every summer, and they get all nice and tan, and we live in the desert too,.. where the temps get to being 112 degree's, but my kids are used too it, and so am I.. We love it, here in the desert!!! But, we're high desert, so we get snow in the winter-time's too!! Too cool, hoh?!! Hey, you just limit, yourself hun, and use a water mister, and you'll be just fine!!! Have fun, "Sun-Bathing" this summer for me!!! smile!!!

If you burn easily...the best way and quickest is to fake it. Get it done professionally if you want to avoid disaster! Don't want to look like a satsuma on your prom day...hahaha
