I saw someone ask about this last week and started to wonder the same thing. What is a Maternity Grant and How do I qualify for it?? I looked online and there are alot of details at the official government website. Looks like it's in the UK. Go here for more information :http://www.surestart.gov.uk/surestartservices/support/helpwithchildcarecosts/maternitygrant/

In the UK it is a one off payment of £500 to help wityh baby expenses.
You can get it if you recieve income support, jobseekers allowance, DLA or the higher rate of child tax credits.
You can claim between 29 weeks pregnant and three months after your baby is born.
If you have any questions please email me.

I never heard of it!!! i didNOT know such a thing exsisted. Unless your talking about cash assistance through a government agency. It is money you as a pregnant mother doNOT have to pay back.
As soon as you find out let me know.
Good luck
