I want to move the air conditioner from one side of my house to the other. (closer to the furnece) After I have some one come and empty the (freeon(spelling?)) or what ever is in the airconditioner. is it as easy as pouring a new concrete base and running the new 220W wire.
What would be the best way for me to do it myself is what I'm asking.

Need to call a local HVAC companies for estimates.
This is NOT a DIY project. That "someone" Should be a certified HVAC TECH and that company should be able to give you a bid on the job.

This could be a disaster if done wrong.. Remember, you have the wiring that comes from the AC to the internal monitoring system in the house. Depending on how the installers wired your house, the wiring is in the wall. This job might require a professional unless you are familiar with drywalling and electrical work.

Definitely not a "one-man" job. In order to "empty" the freon lines, it will need reclaiming (up to two hours) and then electrical moved, along with freon lines. Depending on how your freon lines are installed, this can be messy. I would suggest getting an estimate on moving this instead of doing it yourself. There are so many factors that can go wrong.

hi Nancy: 2 ordinary issues you could try is to interchange the filter out and sparkling the indoor and outdoors coils. i've got seen this enhance the performance of structures by skill of 50%. to be certain in the journey that your needed air unit is working surprising, turn the equipment on and take a sturdy thermometer (i take advantage of a cooking thermometer) and place it interior the return vent (the vent occurring your furnace). provide it a couple of minutes, then write down the temperature. Then pass to a grant sign up (one that materials air to the room) and place the thermometer there for extra or less 5 minutes. The air popping out could be sixteen-20 ranges cooler than the air getting in. whether it is 15 ranges or much less OR 22 ranges or extra, you have a situation which will could be dealt with by skill of a expert. in case you have a sturdy temperature drop, the equipment may well be undersized; you will pick one "ton" of cooling skill (12,000 Btu) in step with 900 squareft of floor area. (In KS, you could pick 1T in step with seven hundred ft2.) different than changing your equipment, you need to upload a wall or window mount unit on the south area of your place. are you able to plant some poplar wood and different deciduous wood on the south area of your materials? they gained't help this or next 365 days, yet after that...

If you are talking about the condensing unit with the compressor, then you will need the slab moved, the electrical relocated, and the Freon lines relocated. Quite an expense if you hire the work out.

You need someone who knows what he is doing.
1. pull freon into condenser unit.
2. cut line sets, disconnect electrical.
3. relocate condenser unit.
4. run new line set and electrical.
5. reconnect line set and electrical.
6. pull vacuum on AC unit. release freon from condenser unit.
7. test unit and add freon as needed.
all this requires the proper knowledge.

Re-route or new 24v control wires
