old movie about a nun who is replaced by a virgin mary statue?

This is an old movie about a nun who leaves the church and falls in love i think but while she is gone the statue of the virgin mary takes her place in the church so that when she realizes she wants to go back to the church no one missed her. I think it may be black and white. The statue cries also.
