K well ...BEFORE I had my baby...I thought they were adorable...
And then I HAD my baby and I think they are lame.
I have one sitting in my baby's closet right now...
People tend to be real particular about the diapers they put on their babies...and not all diapers fit all babies...some fit better than others...
So if you get the wrong diapers...You'll end up ....with a diaper cake in your baby's closet.
IF YOU INSIST ON GIVING ONE...make it yourself (ive done that too...super easy) And use PAMPERS SWADDLERS ...they seem to be the most adjustable best fitting diapers for newborns out there at the moment.

I got one at my baby shower and honestly did not end up using the diapers. I agree with the person that said that people are particular about what diapers they use... my husband and I are on a very tight budget, so before our son was born I thought we'd end up using the cheap store-brand diapers. In fact, that is what the diaper cake was made from. HOWEVER, we found out that we DEFINITELY prefer Huggies or Pampers diapers - so all those diapers from the cake didn't even get used! It's a cute idea, but risky for that reason. It's much better to go with something off the registry or a gift card.

Diaper cakes are really cute. It would be a nice gift to give or receive. It's also something that's different from the common baby shower gift.

I just got a Diaper Cake at my Baby Shower 2 weeks ago. I loved it! Had never seen it before and thought it was really creative. My cousin-in-law put it it together and she did a wonderful job!

Adorable. I do diaper cakes and everyone I have made them for and sold them to has loved them. I use size 2 diapers because the newborn might be big when s/he is born and may need size 2's soon after birth if not right away...

I think it's a neat idea. My best friend is having baby number 4 in July. This would be neat for her baby shower. She already has baby clothes but will need lots and lots of diapers. Before I do something like this I would check to see what kind of diapers she would want for the baby.
I would have liked something like this made out of Pampers swaddlers because they adjust to the baby best.

to start with I LOVE THEM!!!
no i don't have a child nor am i pregnant, however they are cute and take thoughtfulness to make...they are handmade so who wouldn't like it. Although, taking into consideration some of the opinions i think they are great, if you get the right "ingredients", i.e. name brand items, items you would actually use. Just looked at the site...i don't recommend the rubber bands that it looks like they are going to use, they could come off and get into the hands of the baby and who knows what could happen.
do some research if you are going to buy it. i have made them before, so if you want i could actually get some items together and do it for you if you have some time to work with. i have done a couple for friends.
it is a great idea, even if it just sits there and is cute. get one that matches the theme the shower/nursery is centered around!

Oh yes, I would have loved this!
You can always use diapers.
Maybe consider gifting a larger diaper size such as size 1 or 2, as some babies grow out of the newborn size very quickly.

I am biased...but yes I would. Think of them more as a useful decoration....they make great centerpieces and far more useful than flowers of the same price-range!! Make sure to use quality diapers...or have your creator use quality diapers!
I make diaper cakes....and I am all in favor for using them!!

i actually think that they are adorable, and wonderful gifts. I am going to purchase one for my brother's new baby. I wish some one would have gotten me one. It's something unique and special. I u got one and didint like, by all means send it to me.
