I would do another rinse cycle. If that doesn't help, try switching detergents or maybe try using a liquid detergent.

I use liquid Cheer Free & Gentle on my baby's clothes and do an extra rinse cycle and don't notice any odor on her clothes, but I'm not real sensitive to detergent smells either.

Good luck.

Try switching soap brands. The liquids may have less residue than powders. If drying your clothes outside is an option, you could try that. Nothing smells cleaner than clothes dried in the fresh air and sunshine.

The best way to get rid of soap smells is to hang them in the sunshine for around 4 hours.

Personally, I love pulling out a freshly cleaned garment from my draw and smelling the fresh, detergenty clean smell. Each to their own I guess.

have you tried washing with dreft. as it is baby safe. Is it the soap or the fabric softener. Other than washing in nothing but water I just don't know. I wish my clothes would smell even better after I wash them.

I use Bioquest SA8 (Amway/Quixtar) powder which is unscented. It leaves no smell that I can detect.
