Be nice to him...just don't ignore him. He is still a person with feelings. And please just don't tease him. Just talk like you would to anyone else. Alot of autistic people seem to perseverate on things for a while and then move on...He'll get over it soon enough. Just feel flatered.

The same thing you should do if any kid had a crush on you. Kids with autism desrve the same treatment that you would give anybody else. If there is a behaviour that bothers you, try talking to the other kid and explain that while you would like to be his/her friend, you need the behaviour to stop in order to continue being a friend. You may be surprised. Sometimes people with autism take this kind of feedback much better than someone who doesn't.

Be honored. Autistic children can have problems forming relationships to others. There is obviously something special about you that he is comfortable with you.

You owe him nothing special since he is autistic. Understand, however, he may not have the ability to comprehend verbal messages you are saying to him.

Speak to him, quietly, politely, set appropriate boundaries. You are not obligated to let him treat you differently than you would expect from anyone else.

Be nice to him. Do not hurt his feelings. It is hard for autistic people to show their feelings. My son has autism. From being around groups where they have older males who have autism I have had them having crushes on me. If they feel you are comfortable with them they trust you. I just talk to them, and sometimes they want a hug. They just want to be accepted. Treat him normal.

Why should this be a problem? Talk nicely to him, listen to him, respect him - be his friend. He'll get over the crush just like any other boy.

Treat him like a non-autistic person. However, give a straight, but not mean, answer. If you say maybe and give the impression that you don't want to date him, he might think that you really were thinking about it.

Be very specific with him if you tell him that you don't see him as boyfriend material. People with autism are very literal-they don't understand body language or innuendo. They are very concrete thinkers. You might say something like, 'I would like to be your friend, but I do not want to date you".
