A panic room (also called "safe room") is a fortified room which is installed in a private residence or business to provide a safe hiding place for the inhabitants in the event of a break in, home invasion, or other threat. Panic rooms contain communications equipment, so that law enforcement authorities can be contacted.

A panic room is hidden room set up in the interior of a house where people can safely retreat during a home invasion. It has communications equipment, food, water, etc. There is a movie called Panic Room with Jodie Foster made in 2002. Check it out and you will see exactly what a panic room is. It's also a very good movie.

Wealthy people usually have them because they are at a higher risk of being kidnapped for a ransom and murdered for their money, a panic room is a room they go to if their house gets attacked or broken into, so that they can be protected and call the police from inside the room, then the kidnappers have no chance. Its a security procaution.
Watch the film panic room it'll explain a few things.

Mostly the rich have this kind of room. Its a room to lock yourself in, in case of any emergency. This room will be steel all the way around and probably have a tv monitor and tel-phone so you can call the police. They made a movie about this...its called "Panic room" If you don't have money I'm sure you'll never see one of these in person.

Um, well there's a movie called "Panic Room" and in the movie it was basically a room with a phone, I think there was security camera t.v.'s in there, some food, it was soundproof, and it was heavy duty and could lock. I think its basically a room to go to if there's someone dangerous around, or like a robber or muderer enters your house. I dont know how often u would need it...but, i think its just kind of a security. It'd b fun to play hide and seek in! lol
