I hated birth control pills because my sex drive went down to NOTHING, and I was hungry all the time, and emotional! I had way less severe symptoms than most girls I know too! A lot of women just don't notice their moodiness and decreased sex drive either, including several of my friends. I stopped taking them and I am much happier.

Since you are newly married, I would suggest using the Fertility Awareness Method (not the rhythm method, that doesn't work!!). It is a nice alternative to the pill, and you learn an amazing amount about your body. I'm assuming since you are looking into the pill side effects, that you are fairly responsible and careful, and so you would be a very good candidate for this method. I'll put the book with all the info in the source.

What you do is take your temperature when you wake up every morning. It takes about the same amount of time as finding water and taking the pill. You also just kind of notice your vaginal sensation (wet or dry) and whether or not you have any fluid. That's it. You avoid having unprotected sex during times you are potentially fertile (for me, about 8 days per 32 day cycle), but you can use condoms or a diaphgram or whatever. Anywho, it doesn't sell drugs like the drug companies want, but it is highly effective if used correctly and if you are intelligent enough to worry about the side effects of the pill, you are intelligent enough to use this method.

I've been using it for about 6 months and no preggers. I have a couple of friends who have been using it for 5-6 years and no preggers either, because they have followed the rules. You can check the book out at the library, but it's only about 16 bucks on amazon. A nice side effect is that if you do want to get pregnant, you'll know exactly when to have sex to get pregnant, and you won't have to wait to get off the pill.

Anywho, sorry about all the alternative information, but I've done both, the pill and this, and this is SO much better!! Good luck!!

Normally the side effects only last for the first month, with mine it did. They were: nausea, headaches, nervousness and a few others. The nausea was the worse, but hang in there because after the first month you should be fine. There are other risk involved but that depends on the type of pill you take...good luck, hope this helps.

that sucks..i don't be responsive to.. could be you would be able to desire to go without the pill for a month and notice if something differences? i might decide on Maple Leaf's answer, ask a pharmacist or your gynecologist i've got been on the pill Yasmin for 5 years in the present day (I could desire to for wellbeing reasons) and that i've got by no potential experienced any facet consequences, i've got been to quite a few gynecologists and that i've got been advised it replaced into the pill with the backside dose and the least facet consequences. its meant to be a large option for women folk who adventure damaging consequences from different oral contraceptives simply by fact it includes drospirenone, in spite of it is lol. greater effective to invite your usual practitioner however wish u get greater effective!
