My average IQ score is 132, and my higest has been 143.

Do you believe that your IQ can be accurate as to what type of person you are, and what job you would be good at?

Just Curious!

Mine's 128. I've only been tested once. (My score would be higher if my visual-spatial skills were better than those of a 10 year old. My linguistics, mathematics, and logic scores are all quite high.)

I don't think that they're necessarily accurate at all. They're very culturally biased, and while they can be a predictor of mental retardation, if you're above about 100, you're mentally all there and it's just up to your individual abilities. As I mentioned above, my visual-spatial skills are awful, but that just means that my skills are oriented in a different direction, no better or worse than those who do have high v-s skills.

My IQ has been 172, 173, and 174 the 3 times I tested. According to the chart of professions below, as a school teacher, my IQ should be around 120. I guess I am way over-qualified to teach based on this assumption. I should be a professor or research scientist. Well, I do believe my IQ is accurate because though I am currently teaching (a stepping stone), I intend to do more for education than to just teach children. I love to conduct research. Though I am not a scientist, I pursue educational research as a hobby. It is my goal to one day teach teachers how to understand children instead of judging them.

Here is a scale for understanding the scores:

From another site I found this:

High IQ & Genius IQ
Genius IQ is generally considered to begin around 140 to 145, representing ~.25% of the population (1 in 400). Here's a rough guide:

115-124 - Above average (e.g., university students)
125-134 - Gifted (e.g., post-graduate students)
135-144 - Highly gifted (e.g., intellectuals)
145-154 - Genius (e.g., professors)
155-164 - Genius (e.g., Nobel Prize winners)
165-179 - High genius
180-200 - Highest genius
>200 - "Unmeasurable genius"

My IQ score was formally tested when I was younger, and it was 131. When I do the on-line IQ tests it's always around that. I think the highest one has been is 138.
