I can't sum into one or two sentences what I would tell my past former self because there is a lot to say. I've heard the phrase, "Everybody needs somebody" all my life but I've never thought about it that much because I was scared that if I asked for help that my pleas would go unanswered & that people would get frustrated by helping me out or that asking for help made me look unintelligent. I guess I'd tell myself that "asking for help doesn't allow your pleas to go unanswered because there are some people willing to take their time helping you out and by not asking for help is what makes you seem unintelligent. I'd tell myself asking for help will bring all kinds of possibilities and open all the doors of life."
I'd also tell myself "Don't let anyone guilt you into anything because you'll turn into someone you hate and represent something you're firmly against. Don't let someone pressure you into making the wrong choices that you're clearly against - use your common sense no matter how many people hate that and misunderstand you. Do what makes you happy and hold out for someone who will understand you, value you, and is YOU! The Right One will come along, so save yourself."

I would tell my teenage self that:
"Honey, the melodrama you involve yourself in is not worth it. Consider your friends, and develop stronger friendships with the ones who help you to be a better person, and drop the ones who don't. You'll survive, and they will survive, but their survival is not your problem. Quit telling yourself all the usual b.s. about how tough your life is. It isn't. You are making it difficult on yourself.
You aren't as heavy as you think you are. But don't flaunt it.
You have talents and abilities. Use them.
You know better. So act like it.
You're stronger than you believe. Stand firm.
You are not the genetic leftovers of your family. Be yourself, not a reflection of who you think you are in relation to them."

Quit careening thru life and find some direction. And lay off the fast food while you're at it because your future self is paying the price.

Thank you for helping me find my new self. Without your help I would never have done it.

I will always remember you with love and I forgive you for the times you did me wrong - without those times, I wouldn't have the desire and chance to go ahead. You will always be in my heart and mind.

But now, go to sleep and feel safe.
