The point where the graph crosses the x axis is the x-intercept and occurs when y = 0

x + y = 3
x + 0 = 3
x = 3

Ans: (3, 0)

2) Just a word problem. Translated:
4x + 2y = 6

So just find a pair of coordinates that works for the equation...it works out the B is the answer.

1) in order to cross the x axis, the y component has to be zero.
so x+y =3
x+0=3
x = 3
so the answer is C.

2) let x and y be the numbers
4x +2y =6
substitute each point into the equation.

4(0) + 2(3)= 6 checks
4(1) + 2(1) =6 checks
so the answer is B
