Cat would send her a really nice card. She's blood relation, after all, but she's also not shown much interest in you, huh? So card. If you call, and she doesn't respond well, it will hurt you more than anything, not her. Always good to go with a gut feeling and yours says don't.

It all depends on whether you want to mend the apparent rift between you two as well as the rest of your paternal side of the family. If you do, you should definitely call her and wish her a happy birthday. You would not be a hypocrite for calling her now as a birthday is a celebration of life and by calling her to wish her a happy birthday you are acknowledging all the gifts of life that could be traced back to her. It is never too late too open the doors of communication, this seems like an opportune time to allow you grandmother to get to know you.

I say she is still family, but since a call wouldn't really be sincere, how about a nice birthday card, there are so many to choose from you should be able to find one that isn't too sentimental if you don't want but wishes her a nice birthday. Not everyone reaches such a wonderful age, so you should wish her a happy birthday. Good luck and God Bless.

I say choose for it...there is not any regulation that asserts as quickly as a relationship has ended which you will*t proceed to be civil to one yet another, or be friends. What*s in a telephone call? different than to assert whats up i replaced into thinking approximately you and had to pick you the main suitable. Doesn*t advise which you aren*t moving on along with your existence...in simple terms which you remembered her particular occasion..and had to pick her some happiness.

I would call. She's your grandmother and I'm sure would appreciate the call, even if she doesn't know you super well. I am not close to my grandparents either, but they still appreciate news from me on occasion. At the least, you should send her a birthday card.

This is just me, but I wouldn't do it. I would just feel too wierd. However, there is something to be said for giving a ninety year old woman a bit of happiness. Still...

If it was me..I would just let it go..but everyone is different..would it really kill you to talk to her for 20 mintues. It might give an old woman two minutes of peace and joy.
Its really up to you..but it sounds like you feel guilty and you are looking for someone to force you into it so you won't feel guilty.
Just do it then and get it over with.

Since you don't even know her you dont' need to feel ike you have to call, it would be nice. but it would also be a little uncomfortable probably. I suggest you could send a birthday card it would probably make it seem a little less awkward...

call her. you'll say happy birthday to a perfect stranger right? there is no harm in that. plus, if she passed away (god forbid) and you haven't have the chance to talk to her. it'll carry with you for a long time. so, go ahead and give that call.
