I have been looking for a laptop for a few weeks and I just can't decide. I have researched different types and because there are so many options, I am stuck between them. My budget is $1800-2000. I don't do any of that video editing stuff, I am more into music, pics, and watching/burning movies. Being able to easily take it anywhere is a must. My budget must also include the protection plans that they offer, an all in one printer (printer, copy, scanner), dvd/cd burner, a 1G-2G , and a router so that i can connect to the internet anywhere. And I don't want the laptop to look cheap.

DO NOT GET DELL. Their hard drives are prone to crashing very easily. It happened to me, three times in a year.

Go to Best Buy, they will be able to get you what you need based on your preferences/needs and they are very helpful.

Most Laptops look about the same. You can "Modify" the outside to look however with a little thought. I have a weird looking Angel on mine that sit on the edge when the top is open. He looks to be happy sitting there.
Browse some of these;

They good and be different as most people buy those Laptops they see all the time like Dell, HP, Acer etc.
Asus be something that stand out as you be the only one that "may" have.
Sad thing, now we have to buy our computers mainly loaded with Vista, but, they should have an SP1 soon that help, and the pre-loaded everything will work, just we can not be sure of added Hardware/Software after we get.

Ok, yeah. I have had that problem too. I know have a Dell. Me personally, i dont think it looks cheap. I have a router, and I know for a fact that you can buy extra stuff with it. When you order it, something should come up as what you want in/on/to come with it. Check mark what you want, and you should recieve it with everything included. Mine has a lot of space, and if you want loads of space, get an XP. I think out of all, that is the most space you can get right now. I think..... I got mine for a total of about 12500. Something like that. Hope that helped answer your question.

You can choose a brand that is medium by customer choice like HP. But you would have to order the seller for changing the parts as per your requirement and affordability. Please, go to the laptop seller and consult with them about all the issues you have mentioned in your question. I believe that you would get the best possible one for you.
