Sad to say, I concur with all of the above replies aside from the one with the PAASCU propaganda. I don't give a damn what those bureaucrats say.
I go with the verified 'hearsay' because that is what I see. If one wants real value for money, be it hard-earned or just wanting to be well-spent, go for Ateneo or UP. Those schools don't even need to differentiate their campuses for their world of difference.
p.s. that's just my opinion. not flaming anybody.

It is just a matter of the market which these schools cater to . . . actually it just ends up with the number of enrollees for each term. They have no choice but to submit to the Law of Supply and Demand.

If you can't answer the question properly, don't give an answer. Joseph G asked a legitimate question, and answers like yours do not contribute anything legitimate to the discussion. Shame on you!
Now, to answer the question: there is a world of difference between De La Salle University - Manila and De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde. Comparing the two would be like comparing apples and oranges.
DLSU-Manila offers traditional courses that cater to left-brained students. It is one of the country's premiere tertiary institutions, having achieved Level 4 PAASCU status for most of its departments. Its highly research-oriented drive ensures the relevance and timeliness of its curriculum; its faculty members are encouraged to conduct research and pursue graduate education here and abroad; they are among the most well-compensated and respected members of Philippine academia.
Meanwhile, DLS-CSB has developed for itself a reputation for offering quality non-traditional courses. Formal accreditation by PAASCU and other Philippine accreditation bodies is limited precisely because of the uniqueness of the courses the college offers. Tools with which to assess the courses of the college have not been fully developed.
Having said that, the gauge for the relevance of DLS-CSB's courses revolves around the relevance of the courses it offers to the industries it services. Almost all its faculty are practitioners in the industries it serves (five schools serving the industries of design and arts; hospitality; diplomatic services; and management and information technology, as well as the deaf sector), and according to the latest Lasallian President's Report, a steady, consistent and increasing enrollment in DLS-CSB shows there is a demand for Benildean education.
As far as courses are concerned, one again cannot compare DLSU-Manila and DLS-CSB. The Manila campus offers a host of courses, from computer applications to engineering to the arts, with every single degree program a respected one in Philippine academia. The DLS-CSB's two flagship courses, the Bachelor of Arts degree in Multimedia Arts and the Bachelor of Sciences degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management, have made it one of the premiere Philippine schools for design and hospitality. Just this year, DLS-CSB introduced another set of arts courses focusing on animation and photography, among others.
Even in sports, DLSU-Manila and DLS-CSB are different. The Manila campus participates in the UAAP; DLS-CSB is a member of the NCAA.
To contrast 'hearsay,' the truth is students who do not pass muster at DLSU-Manila do not automatically gain entrance into the DLS-College of Saint Benilde. DLS-CSB's admissions process for transferees, like any other PAASCU-respecting institution, involves, among other requirements, students' grades reaching the cut-off grade point average, passing the college's entrance examination, and coming in with acceptable disciplinary records.
Contrary again to 'hearsay,' a significant percentage of DLSU-Manila and DLS-CSB's students are on scholarship. The DLS-CSB's School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies, for example, gives assistance to many of its students because of the special curriculum it offers to prepare Deaf students for a thriving career in the hearing world. Not all Lasallian students are rich.
Oh, and by the way, I am not a graduate of nor am I affiliated with either school. We should build up and promote the quality and reputation of local Philippine educational institutions, people, not tear them down. In an international forum like Yahoo! Answers, we should take it upon ourselves to show we are educated individuals who don't pass around hearsay.
Update: pinoy_ako, I graduated from the Ateneo (1998 AB English Lit), and I'm finishing my Master's Degree at UP Diliman (MA English Studies, major in Creative Writing). Surprise! I'm from the two schools you mentioned! I will, however, defend two damn good schools because they deserve to be defended. Please read the entire post before you answer, and try to show yourself to be an educated online Filipino by not flaming other Yahoo! users with off-topic answers.
