only she could see "Jennifer." Things went missing in the house and they would be found in a pile on top of the fridge. Jennifer seemed to like shiny objects. My mother in law bought Jennifer a pair of earrings and ever since then, Jennifer disappeared (along with the earrings.) Seriously, can anyone help me to understand what happened? Is Jennifer still around? My wife said she always thought Jennifer was just a kid from the neighborhood that was sometimes at Grandmas house or sometimes at her house. She was just another kid as far as she knew.

I say presence because only my wife could see her, her mother couldn't. Her mother thought she was just an imaginary friend too, until the stuff started disappearing and reappearing. I believe that it was a young girl who died and didn't know where to go. I just was curious if there was someone who would know why giving her a gift would cause her to leave. She was welcomed, and was not evil.

A friend of mine recounted a frightening experience she had with what seemed to be the ghost of the previous tenant of her flat. The apparition was in the form of a white light and kept shouting "help me". Somebody adviced my friend to explain to the spirit that she was willing to help her and ask what she wanted her to do. This my friend did and the spirit immediately disappeared and never returned. The explaination was that sometimes they just want to know somebody cares. Perhaps that was all Jennifer needed to help her move on.

Jennifer may have finally crossed over. Only way I can explain it. You need to watch Sylvia Browne on Montel on Wednesdays - she talks alot about that.

It was her spirit guide and probably took the earrings because of love for your wife.
Not to be afraid just plead the blood of Christ every morning and go about your business.

Wow....amazing.
I like stories like this.
I have a story simular to this one.....her name was Breanna and she liked music boxes, which my mom had. They kept playing for no reason. She was very playful.
I believe there are entities that don't know they have deceased and try and go on with their lives and some humans can tune them in......like your wife.
Sylvia Brown and John Edwards have perfected their gift for seeing things.

--Please understand a simple truth, if in fact you have belief in the Bible--When a person dies he is simply dead, nothing lives on to help us or haunt us! Please note:
(Psalm 146:3-4) “3Â Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs. Â 4Â His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; In that day his thoughts do perish.”
*** "SPIRITS FROM THE DEAD?" pp. 2-3 Spirits of the Dead—Can They Help You or Harm You? Do They Really Exist? ***
“I grew up in a small village in the northern province,” relates Dauda from Sierra Leone. “Once, when I was a boy, there was a land dispute between my family and another family. Both claimed the same land. To settle the matter, a medicine man was called in. He gave another man a mirror, then covered him with a white cloth. Soon the man under the cloth began to tremble and sweat. As he looked into the mirror, he exclaimed: ‘I see an old man approaching! He is dressed in white garments. He is tall and old, with gray hair, and he walks with a slight stoop.’
“He was describing Grandfather! He then became hysterical and cried out: ‘If you don’t believe what I am saying, come look for yourselves!’ Of course, none of us had the courage to do that! The medicine man calmed him by sprinkling on him a magical mixture of leaves and water, which he held in a calabash.
“Speaking through the mirror-man, ‘Grandfather’ said the land belonged to our family. He told my grandmother she should work the land without worry. The other family accepted the judgment. The issue was settled.”
Such experiences are common in West Africa. Here, as in other parts of the world, countless millions believe that dead people pass on to the spirit world, where they are able to observe and influence the lives of people on earth. Is this belief true? Are the dead really alive? If not, who are those who claim to be spirits of the dead? Knowing the correct answers to these questions is vitally important. It is a life-and-death matter."
--There are indeed a lot of strange things that are going on in the spirit realm, & one fact is clear that in accord with the Bible the experiences people are having are not from God, the Bible shows demon activity is very ramphant!
--If in fact you want further info, I could add more info to my answer, otherwise I wish you well. More Biblical info could also be obtained from our official website as Jehovah's Witnesses--
