I really don't know that there are too many legit home based jobs. I would check any at-home job ad with the Better Business Bureau to see if they've had any complaints (or strikes?) and even then, it's not a guarantee that it is not a scam. If any company advertising an at-home job where one has got to pay money, it is almost a given that it is a scam.
I don't know if there are some (legit) companies that allow workers to make phone calls related to the business from home and get paid such as telemarketing/march of dimes, market research surveys. Just buyer beware and potential employee beware.
