I think it should be legalized. Keeping it illegal does not serve to keep it away from the general public. It only makes it more dangerous because it hasn't been processed by a standard or has been processed with harmful substances. Pot is no different than alcohol and cigarettes and some studies have shown it to be less dangerous and medicinal.

Of course, I think there should be restrictions on it to keep it out of the hands of children like how we do with cigarettes. Marijuana is not good for an undeveloped brain. Well you say they could get it from their parents, well it is better than them going to a dealer and getting involved with human/drug trafficking.

just legalize it so the government can tax the sh!t out of it like they do cigarettes and gas and food , and income, and lottery winnings and everything else they tax on local, state , and federal levels. gosh Amsterdam has no problems with it and they sell pot, hash and mushrooms. must be horrible just think of all the times you heard in the news about the Netherlands and their crime and deaths from all these drugs, that's because there is none . Its just like drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes in the US. If you don't like alcohol or cigarettes you don't go to those establishments. same with Amsterdam's coffee shops people who don't like it just stay away from them.. They have plenty of people working theres hardly any unemployment so they cant say how pot makes people lazy. its been proven over and over it helps relieve cancer sickness' associated with chemotherapy and now a study was done to say it helps with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder).that study was done by UCLA. I have heard rumors that there is gonna be some arguing done in congress this yr about false studies being done to prevent legalization.

ABSOLUTELY LEGALIZED. I am not a drug user nor do I advocate drug use. But I see no reason why the US government should spend over $60 BILLION a year trying to prevent people from doing drugs, when it's perfectly legal for them to get drunk and smoke cigarettes. What you choose to do in the privacy of your own home with CONSENTING ADULTS should be YOUR business. Legalizing drugs would cut crime in half, it would put drug cartels out of business overnight, cut street crime, and the government could potentially MAKE billions off of taxing it's sale and regulating it's quality. For those that argue that it would create more drug addicts......take a look around! Making them illegal isn't stopping people from doing them! All it's doing is creating a HUGE multi billion dollar black market.

They should have red-light districts like in Amsterdam. You don't want hoodlums in the suburbs bothering old ladys and kids with it. But in certain downtown and in rural areas, why the hell not , everyone is already stoned in those places as it is.
