he should be a contender for rookie of the year, unfortunately, it will go to malkin. and anyone who says jordan staahl, he is a joke, only seven assists? whats up with that, hockey is a team sport, pass the puck. the three finalists should be stastny, malkin, and anze kopitar, and malkin will win

I think he is and he has a pretty good shot, especially if he keeps the point streak up and the Avs make the playoffs. Though it will be tough for him to win, with all the publicity on the rookies out east. I have noticed the NHL giving Stastny more coverage lately though, especially on Sunday vs. the Wings and then last night on VS. against the Bruins. Keep it up Stastny!

i could say Richards, yet i'm biased with the aid of staring at him each Friday night whilst he replaced into in Kitchener - somewhat dazzling to work out him making an effect interior the NHL now, destiny Canadian super authentic there. whether, i think of Stastny is going to have a actual massive danger at being a significant action picture star first, because of the fact Sakic should not be going continuously and at this fee, Stastny could have the potential to step authentic in and make that team his. one element i visit assert nevertheless that whether Richards or Stastny finally ends up with extra perfect numbers over their occupation, i'm so happy that persons are determining that there are stable youthful gamers outdoors of Pittsburgh and Washington. the two Stastny and Richards deserve the limelight that they have been getting, and it particularly is clean to have a metamorphosis from the consistent Crosby vs Ovechkin montages.

I hate to be a smart *** but no he is not. The Calder Cup is the championship of the AHL. It is given to a team, not a player and he is not even playing in the league. Now, if you are talking about the Calder trophy given to the rookie of the year, the I would have to say that he will be given some consideration. However, only 3 finalist are chosen and we won't know who they are until after the conclusion of the season.

Yeah def., Stastny has revived Hejduk's career. He's done more for Colorado than anyone could have expected this season and he's emerged as the eventual successor to Joe Sakic. He'll be getting some well deserved votes for sure.

Dunno why this kid is not getting more recognition . . . what was up with him missing the futures game?
I think malkin has the numbers and the name recognition so Stastny is SOL in my opinion. Though I like him and he's been a valuable fantasy addition.
If you are in a keeper league and he is avaliable, and he should not be, then grab him !!!
