Has Meagan’s Law gone too far??? Its original purpose was to list those who PHYSICALLY rape a child and have been proven to do that beyond a shadow of a doubt. Now it lists EVERYBODY… from the person whom takes a leak behind the local BP to the person whom rapes and murders a child. People see a face on the website and that’s all they see. They don’t separate the real threats from the person who just did something stupid.

NOW, Ohio wants all sex offenders to put a Fluorescent green license plate on their car. Why don’t they just put a bulls-eye on their forehead and their families’ forehead? YES… the spouse could be driving the car with a child in the “fluorescently marked” car when a “concerned citizen” decides to rid society of the evil sex offender by taking the law into his own hands. DON’T THINK IT WON’T HAPPEN!!!

Meagan’s’ law NEEDS to go back to the basic listing of ONLY convicted child rapists… NOT people who so stupid things. THERE NEEDS TO BE A VICTIM LISTED IN THE COURT DOCUMENTS.

I know some of you conservative pansies will think that listed half the U.S. on this site is the answer. All that site does is make it impossible for someone who made a mistake to get a job or find a place to live.

I know WHY some of you think this is a good idea. Your logic is that since it is impossible for them to re-enter society as a law abiding citizen, it will only be a matter of time before they commit a survival crime (such as stealing food to survive) – and because they have a record, they will go BACK to prison for a long time.

I know this because I have done a LOT of research on civil liberties involving sex offenders.

You all really need to pull the planks out of your own perfect eyes before pulling the splinters out of other people’s eyes.

What's next - shoplifters, DUI, and speeders? These people ought to get real.

Well, I would hardly call a sex offense a 'splinter', but I do think fluorescent lights is a little extreme & it puts the rest of the family in danger. It hardly leaves room for any kind of forgiveness in the future. Of course, where does one draw the line between a rapist & someone urinating in public? I think it turns into a crime when people start exposing theirselves, especially to children, because it takes away an innocence that cannot be returned. I say when someone gets hurt(physically or emotionally)that criminal's name definately should be listed. There seems to be so much gray area. I personally feel that they should all receive some sort of rehabiltiation, regardless of the level of crime! It might keep the 'child porn' sicko from turning into a rapist. There has to be reform for at least some of these people!

Why not, generally pedophiles are repeat offenders and as such it is significantly safer for the general public to be aware of their whereabouts. It is simple logic that is someone has a history, it has potential to affect innocent children and if by increasing public awareness we can keep "things" from occurring than a little naming and shaming can only do good.

Hmmm.....I think I have to agree that they shouldnt be issued the license plates....I think they should put them on the cars of the lawyers that defend them instead........
