What do you think of alternative treatment vs drugs?

Prefer it - then again I was raised by a midwife. With non drug therapies you actually treat the whole person and not just the symptom. Western medicine treats one piece at a time and may eventually realize the disease is in a person and not a book. So many people suffer needless addiction and withdrawal as well as horrible side effects from prescription drugs.

It works better for me. I understand the need for drugs, but in many cases, alternatives work just as well, if not better, and cause less harm.

Also.. how many people realize that in India, poor and illiterate patients are being used to test new drugs for the West and some are unaware they are even taking part in clinical trials. When these TV commercials say "clinically proven to..." be aware of how these tests are done. We don't test on animals, but we test on poor human beings- scary.

I guess it depends on how rooted in reality the alternative treatment is.

If you are just dealing with every day discomforts and stuff, then whatever works.

But if you are dealing with more serious disease, you may want to consider weighing your options.
