Lots of sun and little water. First make sure you put it in cactus mix soil. If it is not used to the sun adapt it by taking it out for longer periods each day. When you water it, water thoroughly and let water sit in the saucer for a about 10 minutes and then drain it. Water once every two weeks. For the winter, during the rainy season, we put ours on the porch so it doesn't freeze our get too much water. We water once a month then and without the saucers. When it gets older, dig a little bone meal in to help it flower. Some of ours will flower 3 and 4 times a year. Good luck. The little guys seem to be the toughest to keep going.

First let us make sure it is a cactus because some other succulents look like cactus. Does the plant has spines that are coming from a tuft of felt? If so you have a cactus. You should have waited a little more to re-pot. Now since you have, do not water the plant to allow the roots to heal. Start watering in spring but let the compost dry before watering again.
When feeding your plant give half the recommended dose. Stop watering around October and resume in late March, even if the cactus may flower in winter. Keep it in a light place but not direct sunlight unless the cactus you acquired had been in the sun.
Chances are it may have been in some shop so it need to be given light gradually otherwise it will get sunburned. Keep the same side facing the window. Good Luck.

Hi! Your repotted cactus does not need fertilizer just yet. Most plants die because of overwatering, including cactus. Depending where you live fall and winter they enter a dormancy period. Spring and summer they are growing. I would get some cactus fertilizer that you can mix with water. Before you water use a pencil to insert into the soil. If dry then cautiously water with tepid water. You can leave a container of water out for 24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate. I am posting you a link on care of cactus. Hope this helps. Sunkeeper

in reality re-pot even if it truly is heavily too massive for the pot, like accomplishing the sting interior 1 / 4 inch or so. Re-potting is a common rationalization for death between living house flora, it truly is totally hectic and inhibits boost. Indoor flora favor to be root certain, have self belief it or no longer. even if it truly is totally needed, then each living house and backyard save sells one or 2 kinds of cactus/succulent mixture. in case you won't be able to discover it, one area potting mixture, one area sand, and a touch bit gravel for drainage. in reality flow one length up in pots to stay away from over watering, and damage the former pot so as now to not disturb the basis equipment by technique of digging it up. protect it from direct image voltaic and do not douse it for a minimum of a week after, and then resume it truly is common time table.
