I don't believe anyone married or divorce has any type of custody over one another. Marriage is marriage, you live with one another, you are legally bound to one another. But each is their own. Custody is for children not adults and I must say you could be classified as a control freak if you were looking to have custody over someone else...I can see why she is your EX.

I'm not exactly sure if I understand your question correctly, but if she is your EX-wife, then you have no responsibility for her whatsoever, regardless of whether she has family nearby or not.

Very likely if you are the only person who can provide a stable environment for her, and your divorce ended amicably................I am assuming that she is mentally handicapped in some way.
