If your wondering for yourself to make a decision than I would say your not ready. I believe that within the first year of being together and your still not sure and every things not alright than that person is definitely not for you. Something I just learned recently. marriage should be with someone you really admire and adore, so many people mistake jealousy for love.
I say why get married anyway?, it's not like your living in a fairytale.

You will have peace in your heart about it. There may be a few concerns, but overall, when you rule out the emotional & physical aspects and still want to marry the person, it's usually right. When you can't see yourself growing old with anyone else (regardless of physical appearance - and if you want to know what they're going to look like 25 or 30 years from now, check out their PARENTS.) Maturity and selflessness are a BIG factors too. If you're still "all about me", you are NOT ready.

When you find someone you would love to call your husband, and would love hearing him call you his wife. When you can picture yourself at 80 sitting on the porch in a rocking chair next to each other, and that makes you feel good. (not irritated) If you cringe in your tummy at the thought of any of these things, your not only not ready to be married, you probably won't ever want to marry the guy your with.

Hmmm....

I was afraid. My boyfriend asked me, in front of a house full of people:

"If I promise to love you and be good to you, not matter what, even put it in writing; would you give me the same?" I said "Sure, if you will, I will" He said "Good, we'll get the license next week" I said "What license?" he said "You just agreed to marry me!"

I'd spent a lifetime afraid of it. We married 7/4/06; I was 44 then, and he was 24.

We are happy, and we just had triplets.

You know when you feel that you are complete and you know yourself pretty well and you are happy. Then you are ready to share that joy with someone. When you do not look at each guy and wonder what would it be like to have him....

When you look at ONE guy and say, I see this man for all he is but I would be honored to be his wife and wake up everyday to that face...for better for worse...and for richer and for poorer...
