The King, Queen, and Jack are the face cards.
The Ace is not a face card.
The face cards are the ones that have "faces" or portraits on them.

Just King Queen and Jack.
The Ace is a doubled card and used as ONE or to make a royal hand using it after the K. The KQJ are all face cards also called picture cards named because of the picture and the face of the named card.
hope this helps.

If it has a face on it (king , queen , jack)..........then it's a "face" card. I have never heard of the ace as a face card.

Jplrvflier is giving you the right answer. If you are playing a game where the cards count from two up with ace ranking over king then the ace counts as a face card. It depends on the game.

Aces don't have faces. The face cards have faces. Jack, Queen and King.
But a lot of time in a lot of games, people will include aces as face cards because they are "high" with the other face cards.
