The second answer was right on the money. 7 does not hijack your home page. Go to Help and Support area and reset to days before your problem through System Restore. Basically get rid of the 7 for your settings.
Once done that restart and run any/all security sytems you have available to you. I personally have AVG, AntiVir, Adaware, and Spybot on my desktop for instant access. These are available for free from CNET website. Download and run them in the order above. It will take almost two hours, however, at the conclusion your system will be voided of the browser hijacker that reset your home page.
Meanwhile circle the date you did the reset to. You may need it in the future. Also, run these programs regularly!! AVG and AntiVir can be set to run daily. The NortonAntiSpyware componet on the yahoo tool bar is also a great addition! Good Luck.

IE7 or any other browser is not capable of hijacking your home page. You have a virus or spyware that is doing that.

Update and run your Anti-Virus program. Don't have one? You can run a free online scan from CA.

Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/... . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.

Download, update and run Adaware---http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaw...

Now to prevent spyware from being installed in the first place....

Download SpywareBlaster---http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.

It's main features include:
- Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
- Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
- Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

Those scans are very general. If you post the page that is coming up we may be able to provide you with a special tool to remove the problem.

There are two possibilities. First, spyware is redirecting your home page to its web page. If your home page is some "security" site, or other commercial site, it's probably spyware. Removing the spyware will remove the problem.
Second, some antivirus/antispyware programs lock the home page. Even you can't change it manually. You have to disable your security software, change the homepage, then re-enable the software.
