Put it in the freezer. The cold will compress the wax and make it come out in one peice. Heating it up will only make it soft and can lead to it leaking or sticking in certain places.

Just place the jar in a pot of water to cover and heat the water until it boils. The wax should come out in pieces and whatever residue is left in the bottom of the jar, just wipe out with a dry paper towel while it's still hot. Good Luck!!

Once the jar is cool, put it in the freezer for a while and just pop the remaining wax out... should work well.
