Yes, levels of swelling can change with the temperature in your home, the time of day, your activity level, etc.

I would NOT wait until Friday to see the doctor. Go to the Emergency Room, IMMEDIATELY. Pre-eclampsia is NOT somehting to paly around with. It could mean losing your baby, or even your death if not treated in time.

you could just be retaining a lot of water like me. They did tests on me multiple times for preeclamsia and toxemia. Ask them to do tests on both. With me sometimes the swelling was really bad and then others the swelling wasnt so bad. It was usually really bad late at night or when i would first wake up. So i could be preeclamsia or toxemia but it could also just be retaining fluids. If you are really concernd then tell them that you would like them to keep an eye on the swelling and your blood pressure. Your BP should be taken at every appointment but ask them to check the swelling in your hands, feet, legs and face. They will probably run a few extra blood tests threw the rest of your pregnancy just to make sure everything is fine.
how far along are you?

Do not wait! A huge sign of preeclamsia is swelling in hands and face.

Call the doctor now; it's not worth taking the chance and waiting until Friday. I had preeclampsia and the swelling was pretty consistent, but it is too dangerous to wait!

The swelling can go up and down through the day and from day to day. It is important to get it checked as soon as possible. Your Dr will check your blood pressure and your urine for other signs but rushing in on Wednesday or Friday isn't going to change the outcome. Get in as soon as you can but don't panic. You need rest and you need WATER.

Take care.
