We stand to lose the Penguins, when they could have had a free arena.

Congress would rather go after baseball players on steroids than secure our borders.

What next?

Lisa C- The Isle of Capri casino plan was to build a new arena for the Penguins, at no cost to the taxpayer. Being that slots are coming to Pennsylvania, the gaming commision (politicians) awarded licenses. The politicians doled out the license for another casino.

Now, the Governor of Philadelphia and others are trying to come up with a plan, using taxpayer money of course.

Penguins ownership is not happy with any of the offers, and are looking at Kansas City as a possible relocation city.

Adam C- Who is crying about the politicians trying to save he team?
They are not trying to save anything unless it benefits them. The Pens could have had a free arena. Where did you come up with that?

The City of Pittsburgh and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are not so much concerned with sport, they are trying to retain a major business and a part of Pittsburgh's profile. They are doing gwhat they'd do if a large manufacturer was looking at relocating.

Where politicians should butt out is on that steroid business in baseball. Hey a guy on steroids can whack a ball a lot harder and farther -- more home runs, better baseball games. What's the problem?

P.S. What's the problem at the border? Terrorists coming in from Canada? Oh all those 9-11 guys were set up in the US, they didn't sneak in from Canada. And what's with President Bush Junior and his Berlin Wall on the Mexican border? The American SW will collapse without cheap labour.

Where politicians need to butt out is when they're saying "We're taking you to court if you try to relocate". The city or state does not own the team. Lemieux is the majority owner, and he should be able to do what he thinks is best for the team. You can cry all you want about politicians not doing enough to save the team, but it's a privately held company and Mario can do whatever he deems is necessary, even if that's moving to KC.

I don't think the Penguins thing is top on the Congressional voting list. But I don't think the legal community should be involved in PRO SPORT matters. The TODD BERTUZZI incident is one good example. If the law were to be dragged into it the whole Vancouver team could have been brought up on charges.Because If I were to rob a bank with a partner and someone gets hurt or killed BOTH of us are responsible equally. Let the leagues handle things out side of the legal community.
