I have no idea what fucundity is.

Fecundity, derived from the word fecund, generally refers to the ability to reproduce. Generally animals that can reproduce early have short life expectancy, while those that have to mature a lot before reproduction have a long life expectancy.
A trade-off between fecundity and life expectancy is fundamental to most theories on the evolution of life histories and ageing.

Remember also (building on other answers) that fecundity is a measure of how likely your OFFSPRING are to reproduce, not yourself, nor is it a measure of how likely they are to simply be born.
Fecundity is a component of the measure of overall fitness of an organism.

In general, the longer you live, the longer it takes to mature and the less offspring you have. simple positive correlation-Time to mature and life expectancy. (Negative corellation for Time to mature and offspring #)
