A transition is the realization that your unhappy with your body and social role and taking the steps needed to be seen and interacted as the person you feel you really are. The transition is the entire process of going from one sex to the other, it contains the therapy, hormones, voice training, interacting with others, the operation and anything and everything else that has to do with becoming the other sex. Transitioning is the whole process, everything else is just a part of transitioning.

transitioning is the act of changing from one societal norm to another (male to female, or female to male). This includes dressing like the opposed sex, hormonal treatment, voice lessons (for some), group therapy, surgery for some (not only genital, but electrolysis, face surgery, breast removal/enhancement, etc.) and any other action that are needed to have the general population accept that person as the opposed gender. Look up Catalina De Erauso, Chavalier D'Eon, their transition, even though several hundred years ago, was somewhat similiar and can provide more insight.

Transition is exactly what the word TRANSIST means. To change. Transitioning transexuals are going through the phases of becoming the opposite sex. Transitioning women to men are taking the male hormone to promote facial hair growth and voice changes and some will get the surgery done to remove all breast tissue. Transitioning men to women are taking estrogen hormones to make their voice lighter and to grow breasts, hips & longer hair. They may also have their penis inverted into a vagina. Thats what a transition is. And no im not a transexual either.

A "transition" period for a transsexual is the time when either he or she begins to phyically and socially change from one gender to the other. It's that in-between period when you start to take hormones, dress in the style of the opposite gender, and begin to present yourself publicly as a member of the opposite gender. It is pre-surgery. In my case, I have begun transition and am taking female hormones that are developing my secondary sex characteristics, such as my breasts. The next step will be to start living fulltime in the female role.

Transition is the process of switching from one sex to the other. Different people's transitions are different because different people get different things done.
