There is a part in the movie where Denzel and Ethan are in the ghetto apartment building (the first time) and they are walking up the stairs while a girl is walking down and Denzel looks the girl over and says "All that toast and no jelly" SWEET JESUS ... what does that mean?????

"Cry Freedom." 1987. An awesome movie on so many levels. He played Steve Biko the African activist tortured and killed in prison.Based on a true story written by a white journalist,Donald Woods, played by Kevin Kline. The journalist had to flee South Africa, in secret, with his family after writing about the death of Biko and condemning the white government. The music was amazing and won an Oscar. Don't miss the closing credits, they will chill your blood.

I think it refers to her being thin.....the opposite of all that jelly and no toast being used to mean someone overweight. Not nice either way !!!!
